Local Habitat and Inhabitants-- Photos and reports

Our local pair of eagles chose their nest site because it contained what they needed-- a suitable nest tree, nearby habitat that provided a ready source of food, and roosting trees that provided  places to rest, preen, look out for prey and guard their territory against rivals. For this reason, we are interested in learning more about the nature and quality of the surrounding area. This Sub-Forum is the place to post observations and photos of the plants and animals that share the eagles' territory. We'll emphasize the immediate surroundings, but the eagles may forage anywhere in southwestern Broward County, and possibly into northwestern Miami-Dade. That said, there are no rigid guidelines, as we all share an interest in the wildlife of South Florida, so don't be afraid to stray farther afield!
